Jeff McLaughlin, RSE
Owner & Red Seal Certified Electrician
Welcome to Larry Electric. A family of electricians in Greater Moncton for three generations. We have put our name on every project we do. We never subcontract, because the only way to guarantee the job is done right is to do it ourselves.

GREATER MONCTON EXPERT ELECTRICIANS
What can we help with today?
You need it done right. We make sure it is. That's what 67 in business gives you.
You don't hire an electrician often. When you do, you need someone you can trust to do the job right the first time, not someone who'll leave you with hidden problems, voided insurance, or a bill that keeps growing.
The question is simple: how do you know which electrician to trust?
That's what Larry Electric has been answering for Moncton homeowners since 1959.
Three generations of Red Seal electricians. We hold $5 million in liability insurance, we're fully licensed across New Brunswick, and recommended by the customers who've trusted us with their homes and businesses for decades.

I highly recommend this company. I have struggled to get someone to come to my house because the issues I had were, "small jobs." These guys came THE NEXT DAY and would of come the day I called but I was heading to work.
When they came they were very friendly, very professional, and got the jobs done quickly. I couldn't have asked for a better experience. Also, they're dog people!! Dog people are always the best people!

Larry Electric - Same Price. Better Electricians
When you call an electrician, the hourly rate is the part you see. It's worth knowing what's behind it because the answer explains a lot about what you're actually buying.
Every electrician on our team holds a Red Seal license, Canada's highest electrical trade credential. Earning it takes roughly five years of apprenticeship, thousands of supervised hours under a licensed electrician, and multiple provincial and federal exams. After that, the learning doesn't stop. Code changes. Technology changes. Houses built in 1965 don't behave like houses built in 2015, and a good Moncton electrician knows both.
We also carry $5 million in liability insurance, $2 million on every vehicle, and the provincial licensing, registrations and ongoing certification that come with operating as a licensed electrical contractor in New Brunswick.

A colleague recommended we call Larry electric when I mentioned we were searching for an honest and dependable electrician. When Jeff arrived he was polite, professional and knowledgeable. It was refreshing to have someone who was genuinely interested in helping their customers and not simply out to take advantage as he proved when he explained that our bathroom fan was indeed working fine (he could have simply replaced it to make a buck, but instead explained why it wasn't necessary to do so which we appreciated). He then quickly moved on to our next electrical issue and had it fixed in no time. Thanks for a job well done.

MEET THE MAN BEHIND THE NAME
Larry McLaughlin started this company in 1959 with a tool belt, a truck, and the belief that the job should be done properly the first time. Three generations later, that belief still runs the company.
This is Larry

If you've lived in this part of New Brunswick for any length of time there is a reasonable chance a McLaughlin has been in your electrical panel.
Larry McLaughlin started Larry Electric in 1959 with a tool belt, a truck, and the belief that the job should be done properly the first time. Nearly 67 years later, that belief is still what runs the company. It's just being carried now by his sons, Tim and Steve, and his grandson Jeff.
Tim joined his father in 1978. Steve followed a year later. Jeff came on in 2006. Between them they hold three Red Seal licenses, the highest trade certification in Canada, and decades of work across Moncton, Riverview, Dieppe, and Shediac. Homes, renovations, service calls, the lights that wouldn't come back on at 11pm on a Sunday.
Larry passed the company on, but he passed something else on too: the standard. We're family owned, locally rooted, and we don't subcontract our work or our reputation.
We answer our own phones. We give free estimates. We take the time to make sure it's done right because our name is on it — literally!
When Tim trains an apprentice, he's teaching what his father taught him. When Jeff troubleshoots a tricky circuit, he's drawing on instincts that took three generations to build. That continuity is rare in any trade, and it's the thing we're proudest of.

Here's the part worth thinking about. A bad repair can fail an inspection when you sell your house. Work done without proper permits can void an insurance claim after a fire. Choosing the wrong electrician doesn't show up on the invoice. It shows up later, as costs and hassles the homeowner never planned for.
Electrical work is one of the few household expenses where the cost of getting it wrong is much larger than the cost of getting it right. Here's what most homeowners don't see until it's too late. These are a few of the things we see when fixing electrical work.
THE RISK
Failed Home Inspections
A bad repair can fail a home inspection when you sell your home.
Voided Home Insurance
THE RISK
Work done without permits can void your insurance after a fire.
THE RISK
Hidden Over-heating
A connection not wired correctly can look fine today but can overheat behind a wall for years before anyone notices.
THE RISK
Unexpected Future Costs
Choosing the wrong electrician doesn't show up on your first invoice; it shows up later. Costs you never planned for.
What you're paying for, in the end, is a person. Someone who spent five years earning the right to work unsupervised, and another twenty or thirty getting good at it. Someone who will walk into your basement, read a panel that's been added to four times since 1978, and know exactly what they're looking at. Someone who takes the work personally, because their father did, and his father did, and one day their son will too. That's the part we're proud of, and it's the part we'd like you to know about before you choose an electrician to trust with your job.
